How to Get Ink Out of a Puffer Jacket

It’s that time of year again when the weather starts to turn and you start to think about how to keep yourself warm. One of the most popular choices for outerwear is a puffer jacket. Puffer jackets are great because they’re lightweight, they’re usually waterproof, and they’re very stylish. But one downside of puffer jackets is that they can be difficult to clean. If you get ink on your puffer jacket, don’t despair! There are a few easy steps you can take to get that ink out.

Step By Step Guide: How to Get Ink Out of a Puffer Jacket

Step 1

The first step is to identify the type of fabric your puffer jacket is made of. Most puffer jackets are made of nylon, but some may be made of polyester or other synthetic fabrics. Once you know the fabric, you can choose the best cleaning method.

Step 2

If your puffer jacket is made of nylon, the best way to remove ink is to use a diluted solution of dish soap and water. Simply mix together a few drops of dish soap with some water and use a clean cloth to dab at the stain. Be sure to only use a small amount of soap so that it doesn’t damage the fabric. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with clean water.

Step 3

If your puffer jacket is made of polyester, the best way to remove ink is to use rubbing alcohol. Simply apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a clean cloth and dab at the stain. The alcohol will break down the ink and make it easier to remove. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with clean water.

Step 4

Once you’ve removed the ink from your puffer jacket, you can wash it as usual. Be sure to read the care label to see if there are any special instructions for washing. If not, simply machine washes the jacket in cold water on the delicate cycle. Be sure to line dry the jacket or hang it up to dry so that the filling doesn’t get damaged.

With a little bit of care, you can keep your puffer jacket looking great for years to come!
